Capturing Chipotle's urban artistic style
I had lunch at the 1st Chipotle on the 1st day—it was different from day 1. I had photographed the store when it was a Dolly Madison ice cream shop for my MFA thesis show—now it was transformed in to a very cool urban artistic look, just like my personal photography.
I presented my images to Steve Ellis the founder of Chipotle and he loved the look and style and hired me to shoot branded photography for Chipotle—the photography style is still present in over 3,000 locations worldwide.
Soon after getting the branded photography going Steve hired me to pull together a team in order to create an advertising campaign. I hired a designer, copywriter and, of course, I did the photography.
